Start-up e-logistics company, borderlinx.com, quickly needed to communicate their smart offering to online shoppers in the UK and Belgium, in order to participate in the £12bn online pre-Christmas spend (BRC/Nielsen, December 2007). With a tight deadline, there was an immediate requirement for thebluedoor to create a five week campaign which would grab the attention of key-influencer publications, in order to generate coverage and drive visitors to the site.

By developing a creative ‘Little Brown Bag’ shopping mechanic to communicate the benefits of shopping in the U.S. online, as well as leveraging the record Sterling to Dollar exchange rate, thebluedoor generated significant press attention. Coverage appeared in ELLE.com, Livingit.com, Financial Times, FHM.com, The Sunday Times, The Observer, The Guardian, B:there!, The Daily Telegraph online, Grazia magazine, Stars and Stripes and many more.

Blogs and forums were involved in the buzz, through proactive dialogue and stemming from traditional coverage – and the buzz keeps coming.
