Following the successes of the Surrey Tweetup, thebluedoor is now looking forward to hosting Twestival Farnham on the 25th March. On this date, towns and cities across the globe will be taking part in a social networking festival to raise money for the charity Concern Worldwide. The event will be held at Farnham Castle which will provide a beautifully historical contrast to the digitally inspired evening.
We are delighted to be able to confirm that Nick Halstead, CEO of TweetMeme will be the key note speaker at Farnham’s Twestival. TweetMeme is a service which aggregates all the popular links on Twitter to determine which links are popular and since its launch in 2009, Tweetmeme has experienced phenomenal success. Within the first 10 months it has grown to over eight million monthly unique visitors and delivers nearly 300 million sharing widgets per day to over 100,000 websites. Nick Halstead is an incredibly influential figure in the digital world and his involvement is great news for Farnham’s Twestival.
Chairman of the innovation hub iBundle, Julian Ranger will also be playing a key part in the evening’s proceedings. Not only is iBundle generously sponsoring the drinks, but Julian will be on hand to offer advice and answer questions in his role as an angel investor.
On the night, those attending will be treated to tasty chocolates provided by Mars Drinks and the opportunity to win a host of prizes that have been generously donated by various local companies. These include books from Waterstones, a one night’s stay including breakfast at The Bishops Table and a £50 voucher for online store ASOS.
We’d like to say a big thank you to all the sponsors for the evening as with their help, Twestival Farnham is set to be a great success!
